Dear sir,

I use EHCP now for a year, I'm very happy with it. Now i have got a e-mail from my provider that there is tried to do a DDOSS attack with my server. Is this possible is my question. The provider gave me two sollutions to fix this problem. Bolk port 53 DNS in my router, or disable recursion. If it is possible what is the best sollution to fix this.

Just out of curiosity on a vps 1 gb ram and 100 gb hd and clients all using Apache, PHP, Bind, Postpix blah blah blah with:

10GB space.
25 POP/IMAP email accounts.
25 FTP accounts.
25GB of bandwidth/month.
Unlimited Ezmlm mailing lists.
25 MySQL databases.
25 subdomains.

to its full limits, how many clients will the server handle? the vps.

I understand a few people including yourself is using EHCP in production what is performance like under load? Lets say to host 100 and/or 1000 clients; with the above requirements what server specs would i require? Is EHCP up to the task?

Can you have different, app, db, ns and file servers? under one roof?

p.s. ehcp is by far the most simple, object orientated panel on the web, looking forward for the future.

better still would like to see it as a readymade script

Technical Requirements
Dolphin requires the following pre-requisites for your server:

Linux/Unix (Red Hat, Debian, FreeBSD, Mandrake, etc.) or Windows OS, Apache Web Server
Ability to run executable files (necessary for ffmpeg.exe)
root SSH access (necessary for RMS installation)
PHP 4.4.0/5.1.0 and higher (register_globals must be Off, safe_mode must be Off, exec() must be allowed and allow_url_fopen also must be On) with mbstring, domxml and xsl extensions (they are required to run Orca forum and support UTF-8)
MySQL 4.1.2 and higher
GD library compiled with TrueType fonts (for photo processing) or ImageMagick as an alternative
Sendmail or Postfix
shell or another interface for setting Cron Jobs
20MB of disk space and 1MB of MySQL DB space for installation
8MB of disk space and 50KB of MySQL DB space for an average user
Otherwise you will not be able to install and operate Dolphin properly.

HostForWeb is recommended hosting.

NB! This post on the Boonex blog implies that root access and a dedicated or virtual server is required for hosting.

If all the above requirements are met on your server then you are ready for installation.

If you want to add Dolphin to your cpanel automatic installation you should use these instructions. THese instructions are for Hosting providers and/or VPS/Dedicated server holders.
