Alright, I have u-verse, so when I did a port forward, server1 and server2 happened to be the same PUBLIC IP. U-verse has a weird port forwarding thing, where you choose which device you want to be your webserver, DNS, etc. If I want to make server 1 my DNS server, how would I do that?

Ehcp has the most options ever in a free control panel, and yet it's so easy to download. The only thing that needs to be added on is an update to the GUI. It's not the neatest panel like VHCS. If EHCP had a template like that, that would be sweet. My question is, why isn't there one?

I have a fqdn of kc8tdw.com, however this is one a dynamic i.p address. I have a program that updates freedns.afraid.org. I have the warning of "Warning : Your dns/server ip seems your local/private ip. in order your server be accessible from outside, you should set it to your outside/real ip (your modem/router's ip)", with a dynamic i.p. address, I can't do this.

Also, I would like to type in my web browser kc8tdw.com and get to my site, with out getting the default page in /var/www/.

Can you please help?

Before I pull EHCP into testing it out as a free host, I want to ask bvidinli about the security of EHCP. I posted a thread incase other EHCP users wanted to have the same questions. How would you compare the security of EHCP to paid control panels? Before I go ever test it out, I want to make sure it's safe to prevent spammers, leechers, phishers and hackers. I also want to know if you know, if the security of my server will be at sake. I don't want hackers rooting my server, but if that's in the server, how can I prevent it?

Should I start a free web host to give to the internet community? Some of my worries are hackers and security, but this field is what i would like to work in, so give me your opinion. By the way, I don't have many servers, they're at my house, if that is a problem. I don't want someone to come busting through my door.

i have been trying to setup a monitoring platform {can't invest in machine atm}.

I was wondering if it is possible to install the following into ehcp

nagios
munin
cacti or mrtg
smoke ping - i have installed this in a VM with EHCP, i assume making changes in usual apache folder will break EHCP.

will appreciate any help or pointers.

there were a few ones, ravencore, vhcs and so on...
but none of them was easily installable...
away from easy install,
they werent even functional after installation finished...
so, i decided to write a new more usable one
i am programmer,
so
i saw a gap at this point.
why free :
i think basic software should be free, or very cheap..
