I have a static ip from my isp.

The isp provided me with

ip address:
gateway:
subnet:
dns1 24.25.5.60
dns2 24.25.5.61

During the ubuntu install I have come to a question of

The name servers are used to look up host names
on the network.

Please enter the IP addresses (not the host names)
of up to 3 name servers, separated by spaces.

Do not use commas. The first name server in the
list will be the first to be queried. If you don't
want to user any name server, just leave this field
blank.
Do I enter dns1 and dns2 like this?

Name server addresses:
24.25.5.60 24.25.5.61

The reason I ask this is I want to do a fresh install and have it ready for ehcp.
And I seem to be have trouble with DNS setup so I want to
make sure I got this correct.

when i add a subdomain and want to open that subdomain it shows me not found 404 problem:

Not Found

The requested URL /var/www/vhosts/najma.ir/najma.ir/httpdocs/index.php was not found on this server.

Hello,

I am wondering how to setup an automated process through ehcp panel to run a php file every minute - is there a cron setup operation or do you have to create a deamon, if so how do you do that?

I have looked at all the buttons but don't see any for cron or daemon creation.

Allright, so we're at the point where we've been able to change the nameservers with the registrar. Nameservers are now pointing to ns1.twigg-musique.com and ns2.twigg-musique.com, with the two unique IP addresses given by the hosting provider.

FTP/Mail are all humming along- however, port 80 isn't pointing to the appropriate folder in the vhosts path for the domain- pointing to /var/www. Checked lots of apache config files, all looks normal as per various posts here on the forum.

My question is- when the domain was setup in ehcp, the name used for the domain was twigg-musique.com, not just twigg-musique. Will this require, then, on the registrar site for the domain name that the name ns1.twigg-musique.com.com be used? Not sure about this, since it doesn't seem like the virtual host redirection is working at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated, commercial site here...

I Dont know what to do, i dont want to uninstall ECHP then reinstall but do i have a choice? the two main problems i have are.....

1. My admin quota is too small, at the time when i installed EHCP i was using a smaller hard drive, but now i use a much bigger hard drive, so i tryed to add more quota space to the admin, but Ehcp say you cant edit yourself.
2. Also I made a user account on my server using ehcp, i set the webspace to have 100mb, i when wanted to change it to have 10GB space, but it only let's me have 2GB = (2147483647) know matter what amount i want to add.

Rather new to this. I am a web developer who is working with a company running a dedicated server with external hosting. We need to understand how to properly configure DNS to be able to point to the hosting machine.

This is where we're confused. The hosting currently has it's own hostname (dserv71-mtl3) and static IP address.

From my understanding, EHCP will allow access to any of the domains configured in it- nameservers are ns1.<domain_name> and ns2.<domain_name>, where <domain_name> is the name of the domain installed/configured in the EHCP control panel.

Documentation on this site has indicated to add these domain names AND THE EXTERNAL IP ADDRESS (the dedicated server running on the hosting in our case) in the domain registrar settings for the domain in question.

In the utility to set nameservers for the domains registered, there is no provision to enter an IP address, only the nameserver values. Will the domain name resolve properly without entering the IP address?

Almost all information I've seen on this site refers to sites configured on a local network running Ubuntu- we're running this on a server hosted externally. Basic stuff, but this is a commercial site and we don't want to take the site down without having a proper understanding of exactly how to configure the domain name /nameserver
