Question:
During install, when I get to Configuring Mailman I select a language and am returned to the first screen. Then I hit enter for OK and have to select a language again, over and over. How do I break this loop?

Answer:
Most probably, you do not select language,
to select language, go over language selection, press spacebar, then tab, then press ok.
this way, that should go on..

If that does not work, try this:
open install_lib.php, search & remove mailman, save, restart install. thats it.

Hi

I managed to succesffully install and run the mono, xsp and apache on my Ubuntu 9.04 x64 server (make sure your kernel is 2.6.24 or newer).

Then I installed the ehcp on top on it

After this I get the error when I type xsp2 from /usr/local/lib/xsp/test:

Listening on address: 0.0.0.0
Root directory: /usr/local/lib/xsp/test
Error: Address already in use

Has anyone installed the mono & xsp? What I do wrong with it?

Ok, here are the problems I ran into. It never created a file called /etc/postfix/main.cf. When I got to the end, It failed to start MySQL. After that it said sendmail: fatal: open /etc/postfix/main.cf : No such file or directory

I have an existing installed Ubuntu 64 bit Server and recently I found ehcp. I want to install it, but I have already installed apache/php/mysql on it. Is there a way to install ehcp? I can remove the current apache/php/mysql but will this be enough? I don't want to make a clean install of the server because I have other software installed and configured.

Question:

I'm running an ubuntu server at my house and I'd like to easily set up websites and manage MySQL DB's. It looks like this control panel can help me with all that, but I want to be sure that everything works correctly. Do you have a howto or some way to walk me through the complete setup. I dont mean just ehcp, but also mysql and apache and what not, all the things i'll need. I'm very new to linux and its a daunting task to say the least.

Answer:

In fact ehcp installer also installs and configures apache, mysql, dns and almost all thing for a normal hosting operation.
So, by running ehcp installer, you will have apache, mysql, dns, php, mail server, all setup and ready to be used.
What ehcp does not install yet is: Spam protection, firewall. These may be seen as a non-essential for a beginner hosting operation, and since they require some complex configuration, They are not integrated into ehcp by default.

The second one installs ehcp into a virtual machine...

After a clean install of Xebian I try to install Ehcp, but I get errors.

I installed Ubuntu 8.10 server on ESXI Vmware machine, the install went perfect so thought I would go over the points.
Ram 1024
HD 30 gigs VM
I just treated this like a normal install, except in 8.10 server when it asked what type of services to install I did not select anything. This way it only installed the base file system.
I then logged in using the user name and password.
I opend a terminal window and typed sudo bash and that opened a root bash prompt .I then typed passwd and set a root password { I like a root login}. I then quit and logged out and then relogged back in as root I created a ehcp directory in root and download the ehcp install file, and ran it just like it says on the download page. Everything worked great. The main difference was I had a domain that I am not using so I used that domain name. I went to godaddy and set my nameserver to the IP of the new ehcp machine. About 30 min later my server was up and working with the ehcp managing the website.

In the next few days I will post a address to download a Vmware image with ehcp installed + I will also make a base ubuntu image with out it installed if you want to do it your self just let me know. For right now ehcp rocks and is going to let me move away from my offsite Vm servers. I can do it at home now just a easy and fast.
For anyone that does not know SXI vmware bare metal hypervisor is free and uses on 32 meg of memory when loaded and will run great on any scsi or sata machine it will not run on IDE with out way to much work. I have a HP Compaq Min desktop 2.6mhz with 4 gig ram with 500gig drive iit's had up to 6 distros running on that small machine with ESXI and had no problems with speed or performance.
