An idea:

You should add in for the next version or somthing 3 things. 1 a Online File editor. 2 a Web editor for making pages when you dont have FTP 3. Make like a Payment or ticket kinda deal so like you could check all the payments and tickets. 4 isnt very important but.. Maybe have a Upgrade version of Ehcp. so you dont have to reinstall

I have installed a fresh instance of Ubuntu 18.04 64bit
and EHCP Force only to find that i am locked out of root on MySQL.
I have tried to install with unattended option as well as manual option
and when i try to login to MySQL within EHCP Console all i get is "Access Denied"
The password is 100% correct and trying to login as root.

Can someone please help as this is hindering me from using EHCP efficiantly.
I am able to login via terminal with the given password and able to create
Data Bases within EHCP But i can not login with root which i really need to.

I am fed up with people saying, "Just delete the MySQL Files"
That is not an Un Install that is sticking your head in the sand.

What if i have an install issue or EHCP has corrupted which has often happened to me
and hey i try to re install EHCP only to find that my old crap is still there along with the problems
in the first place. I can't count how many times i have had to format the hard drive and re install Ubuntu
because of this. Can someone please do a PROPER Walk Through or create a software removal program that doesn't mess up my OS !

Daemon is for system operations
that needs to be done by root.
such as apache conf updates
apache and dns...
some filesystem operations,
in fact, i dont prefer to use a daemon.. but i have to do so.

if you have other alternative ways, let me know..

ftp and email operations are not done mostly by daemon..

Hi developers,

I have a virtual server with only Debian 8 (nothing more).

Than I installed EHCP for Debian and everything seems to be ok.

When I use my server name or the ip address I got the message : The requested URL /ehcp was not found on this server.

I started ./ehcpdaemon.sh but I don’t see this daemon in the list with “top” (SSH).

When I use only the servername or the ip address I see only the first page : Apache2 Debian Default Page

I try to install all for my server by myself, I give it a little more time otherwise I stop with it, if it is too complicated (I am a programmer and maybe you need to be a professional for these kind of things).

But I hope of course you know the problem immediately, in my ehcp.log there are no errors reported ..

I forgot : I got this message during installing but maybe it means nothing : currently i need a dedicated server with 8 core, 8gram, 500g hdd at least.

I have 1 core, 1 gb, 40gb .. and need my server only for testing programs ..

I am getting a warning when I go to install ehcp regarding my sources.list file. I have copied & paste from /etc/apt/sources.list below

What other sources to I need to add to make a clean install?

If you want to convert your server/vps to an ehcp managed server, and you have some domains on it,


Possible solutions:

(Ordered as most suggested--> to -> least suggested)

1-
As you said, perhaps the best way is what you said:
reinstall tho OS, install ehcp, add/setup your domain.
For this:
I suggest Ubuntu 14.04,
ehcp: ehcp.net/ehcp_yeni.tgz (this is ver 0.37.2.b)

install OS,ehcp, then, login to panel, then, add your domain, as usully defined/told on ehcp docs/tutorials.
upload your files, add your emails..

Why I suggest this:
this is safest, cleanest way, bun unfortunately, may not be the easiest one.

the following option is a little easier only if you have already Ubuntu 14.04 installed.


2.
If you have already installed Ubuntu 14.04 on your vps, then,
you may install ehcp, without reinstalling vps.

just install ehcp, continue as I described above. add domain etc.

3.

If you have no Ubuntu 14.04 installed, but another Ubuntu or debian version. then, 2nd option may work.


4.
If you have no Ubuntu or debian installed at all, then, you have to go to option 1, as ehcp only works with Ubuntu & debian.


In all situations, option 1 is cleanest and safest one.

We have noticed that, some mysql installations does not allow us to connect as root.
So, we updated the installer http://ehcp.net/ehcp_yeni.tgz to overcome that (Ver 0.37.10.b).

If you live problem in adding mysql db's, in your existing ehcp installations, you need to run:

shell$ sudo mysql -u root

(
If you are unable to connect as mysql root, try to run mysql in safe mode:
mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &
and then, login.
Later on, restart mysql to switch normal mode
)

[mysql] use mysql;
[mysql] update user set plugin='' where User='root';
[mysql] flush privileges;


For new installations, http://ehcp.net/ehcp_yeni.tgz is fine.
