ehcp is great. It's really great.

Unfortunately, I found a minor problem that may prevent me from using it. Mail works really well. However, anyone can use my smtp server, with no authentification at all! This is a major problem since anyone could use ehcp domains to spam people.

Is the author of this great product considering changing this? I'd really appreciate it if some information on how to fix this is goven here.

would i be entering the SPF below on Custom DNS or editing the template.

mydomainname.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx -all"

I'm using ehcp on a private server, but the ISP has blocked port 25 so i can't use the webmail for other than receiving email and not sending.

The thing i was wondering about, was if its possible to configure the server to use another smtp server? ex: my ISP's smtp server?

Would appriciate all the help i can get

installed a fresh system with the latest version of EHCP.
>created a domain with FTP and email addresses.
Tested Webmail > ERROR:
ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
Tested Mail client (evolution) Bad Authentication SMTP/POP

aynı options icinde: local ip olarak 10.0.0.10 verebilirsiniz. Bu da sadece, eger sunucu aynı zamanda desktop olarak kullanılacaksa işe yarıyor. başka türlü bir anlamı yok.
eger dns/sunucu ip olarak harici ip vermedi iseniz, dışardan maillerin size ulaşmasına imkan yok.

* Eger ehcp yi yeni ubuntuya yeni kurduysanız, fix mail configuration a gerek yok. tıklasanız da bozmaması lazım.

Modeminizde yönlendirme yaptınız mı? modeme dışardan gelen istekleri dahili sunucu ipsine yönlendirmeniz gerekmektedir. bu kimi modemlerde virtual server, kimilerinde de sadece nat adıyla vardır.

Çıkış IP: 85.xx.101.73, ADSL Modem: 10.0.0.1, Sunucu: 10.0.0.10.

Kurulumu adım adım http://www.howtoforge.com/set-up-ubuntu-server-with-ehcp-lamp-dns-ftp-mail-p2 adresini takip ederek yaptım.

İlk sayfada zaten farklı yapabileceğim birşey yok. Sadece kullanıcı adım "beycan".

İkinci sayfadaki "static ip" kısmını ayarladıktan sonra "nameserver 10.0.0.1" olduğunu kontrol ettim.
MySQL şifremi girdikten sonra, isim ve çalışan gmail hesabımı girdim. Sisteme gerekli şifreleri verdim.
Internet Site seçimini yaptıktan sonra, sistem mail adını "aaaaaa.com" olarak girdim.
No - OK - Apache2 seçimleriyle işlem sonlandı.

Apache - PHP - MySQL - Webmail - WebFTP programları çalışıyor. mail atmak istediğimde /var/log/mail.log dosyasına hataları yazıyor.

I have installed Ubuntu server 8.10
and next I installed your control panel
which went very slick. Thank you so much.

Now on a desktop connected within my local network
I have successfully created an IMAP account to retrieve
the incoming mail. That works beautifully.

However, when I want to send mail, using the just
installed server I get an authentication error.

I've looked at the mail.info log and it states:

connect from unknown[ my desktops' local ip ]
warning : SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: Permission denied
warning: unknown[ my desktops' local ip ]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: generic failure

I hope you can tell me what I've got to do to make it work?

I had my ip changed by my ISP so i fallow the steps to change the ip to ehcp.
After the ip was changed my e-mail didn't work at all...
I did a cd /ehcp and run ./setup so now it works and al my sites work also but i whant to know how to rezolve this in the future if there is any ader easy way.

Make sure that:
1- you setup your client settings in normal way, without ssl or tls.
2- you installed ehcp on a clean ubuntu, in normal way, latest version of 0.29.06, and you didnt change manually any mail related settings.
3- can you post here your syslog output while you try to connect with email client ...

4- if you have still problems, i may help by connecting to your server, if it is ok for you.

A) for upgrade from pre-0.29.15 to 0.29.15 : http://ehcp.net/?q=node/1047
B) upgrade from 0.29.15 to 0.19.15.2 : just replace classapp.php from new package.


Upgrade in short:

* Backup your config.php
* download new or stable or beta package of ehcp, extract it,
* restore your config.php
* logout & login back
* restart ehcp daemon: /etc/init.d/ehcp restart


ehcp directory structure has changed in version 0.29.15. so, if you are upgrading from pre 0.29.15 versions, you need to follow (A), this may be sometime problematic.
after this version, I think, replacing classapp.php or maybe a few files in future will be enaugh.


Do not forget to restart your ehcp daemon after upgrade:
/etc/init.d/ehcp restart
