mail problem

Hi,

I just found that everybody can easily send mail without any authentication. how can i solve this?

and I can only send email out but can not receive email from outside.
and the postfix port 25 and port 587 is open, but still can not receive email from outside.

You probably need to just verify your postfix settings. There's some really good tutorials out there for adding SMTP authentication to your setup. Check howtoforge.com or the respective user forums for your Linux distro.

I'd give more details but would need to see your config files (/etc/postfix/master.cf and main.cf) to better serve you.

I just changed my Public IP Address and now my mail (pop. and mail.) does not work. I am sure that it is something simple that i missed.

when i change the Public IP back to the old one it does works.
The settings i make are Local and Public IP in Options (EHCP)
Public IP on my Network Card and Port forwarding to The Server network card (20, 21, 22, 25, 53, 80, 110, 587, 3306)

If IP is changed also in ehcp -> options ->dnsip,
then, all mail configuration also updated automatically.

You may also do ehcp->options->fix mail/ehcp configuration
to do an update of postfix and many IP related settings. That fixes many problems.
