How to backup Email on regular basis

I am intrested on wich folder, holds emails for users, an how could i make a backup script for that to run it every week.

I already tryed to backup postfix folders an rc an sm folders an database but with no effect. After i reinstall the server i cant restore previous emails.

to backup/restore email accounts (not email contents): just use ehcp db.

to backup email contents too, backup /home/vmail
