Q & A : eth0: Device not found error

Question:

I get the following error message when installing on a VPS:

now running install_1.php
please wait...
eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
eth1: error fetching interface information: Device not found
eth2: error fetching interface information: Device not found

Any suggestions ?


Answer:
Those errors should/does not halt/corrupt your installation.
Than only means that, installer cannot detect your ip address on default interfaces of eth0,eth1,eth2.
Since installer cannot detect your ip, you will need to input your ip when installer asks to you.

just let installer continue, then,
enter your ip as you know, to ehcp installer .
