#1
Hi,

Been lurking for a while.

Has anyone tried EHCP on top of 9.04 yet?

Great thank you, I'm trying a fresh install tonight. I bet it isn't much different than deconectat's guide on howtoforge.

Word to the all reading this, the Ubuntu download page defaults to the 64bit version. Scroll down and select 32bit if you need it.

If you accidentally download 64 and needed 32 it will warn you when you attempt install. All you waste is time and a blank CD.

Yes, it is not much different from that guide,
i only added new package mailman to default ehcp isntallation,
you will be asked mailman language, it is easy to select,
you may do it in a straightforward way.

Well now I have installed it twice on 8.04.2, once on 8.1 and once on 9.1.

8.04 was what the tutorial was written on, yet both times sysinfo did not work (had to install phpsysinfo and link it from the panels) and on both installs I got this error when trying to view user info:
"(runop) internal ehcp error: Undefined operation: viewpaneluser
This feature may not be complete"

8.1 actually went the best, sysinfo worked as well as the viewpaneluser.

9.1 was not the ticket for me, MySQL didn't work and mail wouldn't start at all. Sysinfo didn't work also.

Not complaining, probably flaws in my experience level but I'm wiping it back out right now and installing it atop 8.1.

I have some php experience and found the files easy to play with and alter to my specific purpose. I own a small hosting company and I'm thinking about offering a modded version of EHCP to my customers as a less expensive alternative to cpanel accounts.

One of the things I would like to see added is a deeper control over dns zones.

Thank you for a decent thoughtful product, I will donate well if I end up using it at my company.

use custom dns,
or
"Edit dns template for this domain "
for more control over dns..

I have done a fresh install of Ubuntu server 9.04 32bit and EHCP 0.29.08 and added a domain and some panel users as well as some e-mail accounts. Everything was great, email included, until I followed the mailman instructions by typing the following in the CLI via SSH "newlist mailman" with the e-mail address of admin@mysite.com. It appeared as if all was created correctly so I followed the instructions and typed "/etc/init.d/mailman start" in the CLI. It looked as if all was OK but now no email appears to be working. I have tried "/etc/init.d/mailman restart" and "/etc/init.d/mailman stop" but neither has helped. Still no email. What so I need to do to restore email service? Thank you for your time!

did you change anything else on your system?
if not,
try: go to ehcp gui, options, "fix mail configuration"
and type here your /etc/postfix/main.cf

or a afew last lines from /var/log/syslog , while you try to send/receive mail.
