how to get .htaccess working

hi,
i´ve a problem with .htaccess files to get working

mod_rewrite is enabled but if i set a .htaccess file on a directory

.htaccess-content:
Options All -Indexes
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php

or just:
Options All -Indexes
Options +FollowSymLinks

i get a internal server error

the content of apachehcp.conf is:

i tested same,

on apache error logs,
tail -f /var/log/apache2/error.log

i got this:
[Thu Mar 27 22:47:06 2008] [alert] [client 85.98.13.196] /var/www/vhosts/realdemo/realdemo.net/httpdocs/.htaccess: Option Indexes not allowed here

i think this means that you cannot use that "option indexes" in .htaccess here.
it may be places somewhere in apache config.. this may be a feature of apache...

But unfortunately, ehcp does not support yet for custom dns and custom http in an easy way.. you have to figure it out someway,

you may either change /var/www/vhosts/ehcp/apachetemplate , which is used by all domains, or tweak code to do it for only your domain... or you will wait for ehcp that supports custom domain, custom http




instead of your directives, i put:
Allow from 10.1.2.3
Deny from 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0


then, no other error occured,
only:
[Thu Mar 27 22:54:28 2008] [error] [client 85.98.13.196] client denied by server configuration: /var/www/vhosts/realdemo/realdemo.net/httpdocs/

which is normal.

Finally, .htaccess seems to be working with ehcp..

Anyway, congratulations for you used/tried ehcp.
i will anyway, all the time help you.... i will try to answer most of your requests...

Next goal for ehcp may be custom dns, custom apache... last time, with ver 0.25 i developed backup/restore.... )
